Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 won't uninstall

The Xbox game client application is terrible, it installs the game but locks you out of even read permissions to the folder location. When I attempted to uninstall flight simulator all it did was delete the launcher and shortcut, but not ANY of the actual
game files or folders. 100GB of lost space on my disk.

You have to edit the folder permissions and take Ownership of the folder just so you can delete it, that is not something which most users would be comfortable attempting, and it resets permissions to lock you out of your own hard disk if you reboot too,
so you have to take ownership of the folder, apply it and then delete it manually if you want rid of it all.

As for the missing premium content I doubt that uninstalling and reinstalling would fix that.

Still a damn map in the folder where I choose to install the game.

Can't delete folder because it is in use by SYSTEM...

What even in hell is that.. I never want to install games or anything from windows store or Xbox gamepass app again.

It always leaves crapy folders and files behind. And they are almost always the same size as the game...

After you install the initial 1GB portion of FS2020 from Game Pass and run it, the install program asks where you want to install the 'Update', which is basically the rest of the game, which on Game Pass is around 94GB

The reason why it lets you install to anywhere you like is because unlike most Game Pass games, FS2020 is designed to support mods.

Do you remember where you installed your update? If you don't know where it is, go to the root directory of the install drive and do a search for

same question for me : How do you completely uninstall FS2020 from Game Pass ?

Because I've got the Premium version of FS2020 and I can't see premium content after uninstall / install of new version.... I'm staying with basic version of the game and did not have premium contents...

While that's true and its true for almost every other Game Pass or Windows Store purchase, it's not quite the case for MSFS2020. On this game only the initial 1GB download is in the locked WindowsApps folder.

The main part of the game can be installed practically anywhere on your PC and this folder is not locked as the game was designed to be modified.
