    Microsoft Family Screen Time Limits for Xbox Not Working


    The Screen Time limits for Xbox on Microsoft Family do not work reliably. The Screen Time limit will be set to an hour, but the Screen Time limits will not kick in until well past an hour. When I check the Microsoft Family app or web portal, it will show that my son has "1 hr 20 min used out of 1 hr today." Sometime the limit kicks in at 1 hr 20 min. Sometimes it kicks in at over 2 hrs.

    The app and web portal accurately display how the Xbox has been used, but the Screen Time limits are not reliable.

    The Screen Time limits appear to work accurately for Windows desktops and laptops.

    We've had this problem for months. I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps (from other threads on Microsoft Community) and nothing has made a difference. It's driving me nuts.

    Geri: Thanks very much for your prompt response. But I have already confirmed that Screen Time is activated and properly configured. And I have confirmed that my son is the only account signed into the Xbox. I have turned Screen Time on and off multiple times. I have even deleted my son's account and added it back to Microsoft Family. Neither has any effect.

    Microsoft family screen time limits not working on Xbox.

    I'm having the same issue, I was able to get it working briefly by deleting the profile from the Xbox and putting it back , but in a couple days it stopped working again.
