Microsoft Family Issues

So a couple years ago, I made my own Microsoft account at a friend's house, so the system assumed I was his kid.

Lately, I've been trying to get a Minecraft realm going so I can play with my friends, but Microsoft won't let me buy a realm because apparently it's not allowed in my settings.

I ask my friend to remove me from his family.

He says I'm not a part of his family and that he's checked several times.

I check my Microsoft family, and sure enough, it says I'm still a part of his family.

I can't connect my Minecraft purchase to another Microsoft account, so I'm kind of screwed.

Family Issues with Microsoft

When you created your account, did you include your correct date of birth? The account's "age" is determined by that information. If your real age is 18 or over, your account becomes an adult account with no restrictions by default. After the account is
created and used on an Xbox console, that locks the account's age for use on Xbox consoles, and it will have to "age" naturally; for example, if you set the "age" as 1 November 2018, it won't be an adult until 1 November 2036, when the user reaches 18.

 

Family Issues with Microsoft

I made a mistake of making my main account as a kids account.

This has created a huge problem and I have tried several times to make my account an adult account by nothing works .Everything has to go to irritating family. I can't even use Google Chrome or play online. There should be an option in the Family thing that
makes an account an adult one.

It is just so damn irritating!! I can't do anything! I have had enough! Someone from Microsoft rather than having only age restrictions and stupid stuff for family, there should be of making your account an adult one.

On my main account it is written to be as Child, and on the rest it is adult.

Why does Microsoft want to be so irritating and annoying.The problem is that this issue has gone very deep and what google says hasn't worked for me. There is something terribly wrong and I need HELP MICROSOFT! PLEASE I BEG YOU

Sorry to hear you are running into this problem. If you are seeing yourself in the same family then he should be able to remove you. Are you all making sure that he is using the correct account to the Family that you are a part of?

Yeah, my friend went through the proper channels and everything on his end, and he says that I don't even show up for him. I've talked with him a lot about it and he has shown me that I'm not a part of his family on his end, but I'm a part of his family
on my end, so we're kind of between a rock and a hard place here.

Is there no way for you to go into the accounts yourself and just remove me from the family thing that way?

Unfortunately I do not have access to your accounts so I can't fully assist with that matter. In any case when removing an account from a family it would have to be done under the Adult account therefor he would need to be the one to
Contact Xbox Customer Support to get it taken care of.

Another thing you can always try to see if it works would be to have him try to add your account to his Family to see if it will allow him to do that. If it does allow him then maybe he can simply remove the account.

Give it a try and let us know if this works.
