Microsoft Family does not want to allow crossplay

Kindly check and validate that you're using the organizer account in managing the settings. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/family to check before visiting the Xbox settings.

Both companies will allow crossplay with the PC because it isn't seen as a competitor to their consoles.

Crossplay with Xbox One and PS4 though is a different matter. They are direct competitors in the marketplace and need reasons for a person to pick up their console.

Sony are the market leader at the moment and have the larger player base, allowing crossplay with the Xbox One just gives people a reason to stay with Microsoft's console instead of picking up a PS4 to game with their friends.

Just as exclusive games give people a reason to pick up a console, so does the way to play them with your friends.

Something is wrong with the online safety and family section. It's like it's not registering people changing the settings. It's effecting crossplay as I'm stuck with mine saying it's blocked even though it's set to allow.

It is not the exact same file, it is the pc version which is designed for pc.

because the game is part of the play anywhere program, therefore owning it on console gives you access to the pc version too. so cross progression like your saves will work, the game just does not have crossplay from pc to console.

there are limited amount of games that are part of the play anywhere program. some allow crossplay most don't.

other games that are play anywhere like forza horizon 4 and 5, halo etc are crossplay.

crossplay is down to the developer if they want to include it or not.
