    Is it an Elite Series 2 Controller?

    If so you have till January 31 to return or exchange it if you purchased it from the Microsoft online store.

    Just get an exchange. Actually I wouldn‘t buy another one, the Elite 2 series seems to be pretty buggy. Stick with the Elite 1

    Repair means they would be fixing something. Exchange means they're going to swap what you sent in with a new one. With controllers they typically do an exchange since it's cheaper than repairing them.
