Microsoft Error 0x800704ec

Hello I am receiving a long going problem with my desktop computer. Every time I try to log on to an application that needs my Microsoft log in credentials, I do as it says but it’s giving me the error 0x800704ec problem saying “this program is blocked by group policy. Check your administrator.” I’ve done everything I could with defender firewall and uninstalling third party antivirus application.

Have you tried to re-register the store app to check?

Open the Start Menu, type PowerShell, right-click the top result and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC confirmation prompt when it appears.
Next, paste the following in the PowerShell window and hit the Enter key:

Get-AppXPackage -Name Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

Once the task is completed, reboot the system.

I'm sorry you are having problems to log in to your account after you changed to Windows 11.

Please try this troubleshooting:

On the Desktop, press the Windows + R keys, type msconfig and click OK;

In the System Configuration window, click on the Services tab;

At the bottom of the screen, check the Hide all Microsoft services box and click Disable all;

Now click on the Program Startup tab and Open Task Manager;

When loading the task manager, click on the Startup tab and disable all non-Microsoft programs (right-click on the program and choose disable), Close the Task Manager and click Apply and OK;

Restart the computer.

Note: This procedure disables all third-party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, selectively, instead of keeping them all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the initialization of a specific service or program, the problem is precisely with the initialization of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

Solutions:

1. First turn off and unplug your console for 30 seconds. Try again.

2. Redownload your profiles if you can:

3. Check for any system updates here: Settings > System > Console Info > Updates > [look for "update pending"]

4. Reformat your console keeping games and apps (requires account redownload as well): Settings > System > Console Info & Updates > Reset console > "keep games and apps".
