Go to the official website: https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag

Sign in with the Microsoft account email address and password that's associated with your Xbox profile. Confirm that you're signed in to the right account by ensuring it says your current gamertag in the top-right corner of the page after signing in.

Enter the new gamertag that you want in the text box and select Check availability. You may receive a message that says your desired gamertag is unavailable. If so, try again until one is accepted.

On the next page, review how the gamertag will look across Xbox services.
If you're satisfied with your new gamertag, select Claim it.

I have the same problem. Says the same thing to me. I want to transfer my gametag that I use to account that is linked to my windows phone. The problem is that I accidentally made an unwanted gametag to that account. So I made new account to move the unwanted
gametag to so I can change the good gametag to my WP account.

but when I try to change the GT it says the same error message as it says to outrunhook. What shall I do?

It's possible to remove this gametag from my Microsoft's account, so I can move, via console, another gametag to this Microsoft's account?

is there a way that you can recover youre gametag, because i can change it because it`s from the hacker...all the notes are linked on me gametag

when i log in on call of duty all the notes still there but when i login in with my acccount there is nothing
