Hello, I am a gamer that has purchased a lot of games. You can see my collection at the following URL:

    http://www.trueachievements.com/mygames.aspx?gamerid=32032
as you can see I have purchased a lot of games...

In October of last year my account started to get temporarily frozen from purchasing and required me to phone MS support and wait for them to do magic for two days to re-enable it. This happened on five occasions through to December 30th. On December 30th
the 6th occasion happened and when I phoned support after a few days I got an e-mail as follows:

    Service Request Number: ----------

    Dear -----,

My name is ----- and I am with the Xbox Customer Care Advocacy Team. I would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us in regards to the payment instrument authorization failure on your Xbox LIVE account. Rest assured that I am committed to resolving
    your issue quickly and efficiently.

After investigation, we were able to determine that purchases have been disabled permanently on this account. Unfortunately at this point in time we will be unable to approve purchasing from this Xbox LIVE account. While I understand this is certainly frustrating,
please be advised that account security and personal information protection is of upmost importance to Microsoft.

If you believe that your account may have been victim to unauthorized access by a third party, you are welcome to contact Xbox Customer Support directly using the information available at
http://www.xbox.com/support/contact, to pursue an unauthorized access investigation, and someone would be happy to assist you further. Otherwise, you will
need to use a different Xbox LIVE account to make the desired purchases.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced. We appreciate your understanding and patience while this problem was investigated.

    Sincerely,

    -----

when I asked why this is the response I received:

    Service Request Number: ----------

    Dear -----,

My name is -----, and I am with the Xbox Customer Care Advocacy Team. I would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us in regards to the payment instrument authorization failure on your Xbox LIVE account. Rest assured that I am committed
to resolving your issue quickly and efficiently.

Please know Microsoft places limits on the number of times certain items can be purchased in a given time period. The amount of items purchased for this account has been exceeded. Please wait and attempt to make your purchase again
at a later date. Additionally, please attempt the following steps:

    1. Update the contact email address to something other than the Windows LIVE ID/ Microsoft Account

    2. Ensure the name, address, city, state, and zip code are correct for both the billing account and the payment instrument

If you have any concerns regarding this notice, you may either reply to this message or contact Xbox Customer Support directly using the information available at
http://www.xbox.com/support/contact and reference the Service Request number above.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced. We appreciate your understanding and patience while this problem was investigated.

Thanks for being a member of Xbox LIVE!

    Sincerely,

    -----

So, they first told me my account is permanently locked, now they have told me it was locked because I purchased too much... Way to go Microsoft! You encourage people to buy digitally and now you lock me out because I bought too much!

    :)

    Deleting An Account

I don't think that will delete your Xbox Live account, since it can not be permanently deleted.

(You can remove all friends from that account as far as I know that might remove that account from their list,)

Xbox is telling me to get Gold even though I have it?

Another way to attempt to fix this, is to remove the account from the xbox in settings->accounts-> remove accounts. After that is removed login with that gametag again to force the console to fetch your live subscription data. In rare cases your Xbox account and live account will lose sync.

No its a fraud lock that's why you don't change your pattern of buying

This is also controlled by your credit card

Abnormal small purchases or too many purchases can result in a card lock and a phone call from your card provider

If your card provider is good they will call you

My creditcard calls me if I make more then one 200 dollar withdraws in less then 5 mins I'm immediately locked out and my cellphone rings and it is my credit card company verifying that it is me

Not so much your xbox as it is not their card

They lock your account till you confirm you are not compromised this is for your protection as mandated by international laws

  5. So why have they only locked me from Xbox purchasing. I continue to purchase with the same account and cards via the Windows 8 store. I phoned and talked to them for two hours about this. They stated that the only reason they locked my account was because
I bought too much content. They said my cards are fine and my account is fine. They just chose to lock it because I purchased too much!

Account billing locks only apply to the service that initiated the lock

Unless it was your card that issued the lock then they would have a choice of one lock out till you call or your card gets completely locked till you call the card provider from the email it I'd xbox billing lock which takes awhile to fix

as it has to go higher then customer support

    Account set up

if your email address is a Microsoft email (@hotmail, @live, @outlook) then you wont be able to remove your account from the Xbox account.

removing Microsoft email accounts from Xbox accounts permanently deletes the email account and you will no longer be able to access it

all you can do is add an alias email address then promote that to be the main email address.
