    Microsoft authentication error


    I'm trying to sign in on authenticate my Xbox account on an external website and keep running into an authentication error. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work. The only thing I think that can cause it is me changing my Gamertag
    about a month ago. Can someone help?

    Do receive any error code?

    Error code 800704DC, that you received earlier, refers to an authentication problem with your Microsoft account.

    What error message (if any) are you getting when you try to download your profile? The error message is key in deciphering what might be causing the issue downloading your profile.

    If you're getting an error saying your password is invalid, but you can sign into the website just fine, you might have Two-Step Authentication turned on. Check out this Major Nelson blog post on how to turn that on/off:

    Same for me as well. Opening Solitaire gives a Sign In Error with error code 1170000. Looks like this update broke the authentication with Xbox Live. Would be great for someone from Microsoft to chime in on this.
