Microsoft account worked on PS4 but not on PS5

I’ve been using the same Microsoft account for PS4 on Minecraft. Recently upgraded to a PS5 and now I keep getting an error message when I try to login to it on Minecraft. I’ve scoured the internet but haven’t found a solution. I’m using the same psn account as I was on my ps4 so I don’t know why it would be a problem. It says:

Failed to login

“Oops! Looks like this account is already connected.

Please sign in with your previously connected Microsoft Account.“

If you are sure you are using the same PS account you had on PS4 and you get that error message, you should report it to PS support via this link, it seems their system does not recognize that it is the same account.

Hi Josef, I’m having the same issue however this is the first time I’ve got minecraft on any PlayStation, I’ve tried logging in to Minecraft on PS5 and it gives me the same message, there is only my account on my PS5 yet it says my Microsoft account is already linked to another PSN account, I do not have minecraft on PS4. I attempted to use a different Microsoft account but all I got was a signing in screen for 10 minutes so gave up.

(Edit: just installed minecraft on my ps4 with the same PSN account and also says the Microsoft account is linked to a different PSN account but Nintendo switch works fine so seems to be an issue with PlayStation minecraft)

I try to log in to mincraft on my ps5 and i used the same email that i have used on my ps4 and when i try sign in it says "oops! Looks like the account is already connected please sign in woth the previous connected microsoft account and i used the same email and it is still not working

I forget to say i have a sony ps5 and a ps4 pro too, and on these consoles the HDR works fine !!!!

I understand your feelings about how the Microsoft recovery form works, but at the moment, that's the resource we have.

Regarding your inquiry about creating a new PSN and linking it to a new Microsoft account, as far as I'm concerned, on PlayStation, like on Xbox. You have the option to share your game licenses with other accounts added on the console.

Actually, this is possible, and you can enable game sharing depending on the PlayStation you have by following these steps on the account that owns Sea of Thieves:

PS5: “Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
Select Enable or Disable.
If you have another PS5 console enabled, disable your previous console to activate a new PS5 console.”

PS4: “Go to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PlayStation 4.
Select Activate or Deactivate.

If you have another PS4 console activated, deactivate your previous console to activate a new PS4 console.”
