Microsoft Account PSN Linking Issues

I've been sent here from Minecraft Help, I'm facing an issue, where I'm trying to login with my Microsoft account on my Playstation version of Minecraft, however I am greeted with an error saying that my Account is already linked to another PSN account.

first I got in touch with Minecraft support, and they weren't much help, they said since the acc was already linked they could not do anything, I asked if they had information about what PSN Acc was it linked too or when it was linked, since I never had a playstation before that. which makes this whole situation impossible

And they got back to me that I had to get in touch with Microsoft account support to get this information because they don't have access to that.

I also have the same issue with my daughter's microsoft account that I've created, I know for certain she never logged into any playstation with her account (considering she is 7 years old and doesn't even know the password), I created a brand new PSN acc for her, logged in our new playstation, opened Minecraft, tried to login with her MS acc and the system said it is already linked to another PSN account. Locking her out of her account which has hundreds of dollar spent in skins and other dumb things.

What do we say, can we check on your system this information? or maybe we can open a support ticket to the correct team to handle this?

This is a very user hostile situation, I any team I get in touch with says they dont have any way to help, I don't get any information.

This would be so much easier if only microsoft developed a good system like Epic games do with fortnite, or even miHoYo with Genshin impact, having systems in place to help fix these sort of PSN account linking issues. Meanwhile microsoft has absolutely nothing nowhere that even mentions it.

Yah, I'm having this same issue. I don't think I have ever linked my PSN account to a Microsoft account. Yet, Microsoft states I do. I have scoured everywhere I might be told of which Microsoft account I have linked to my PSN account but, to no avail (Microsoft account access on a PC, my PSN account on my PlayStation device, my PSN account on a PC.) I even tried that backward fix of changing both passwords. Nothing. I agree that the bare minimum should be to tell us what Microsoft account is currently connected to my PSN account but, we don't get that.

Hi there Brenden, here is something else you can try, instead of choosing the big button on the main screen that says "Link Microsoft account", you do the following, go to "Play" and then go to the "Friends" tab, there you go to "Find Cros-Platform Friends" button, there it will prompt you to create a new account, but it will lead you to what at least seems to be the same linking UI, im 99% sure if twas from there that I finally managed to get my account linked, try that and please get back here with the information. I think that was the only thing I did differently, but I cant say for sure because I tried so many times that it is all kind of a blur.

Hi there Josef, an update to this situation, Ive been occasionally trying to link my account again, always getting the same result, I refused to try your advice of changing the password because that would be troublesome having to sign in to my devices all over again.

However, on the last day of 2022, I was feeling like trying more things, I disabled 2FA, and changed the password of my Microsoft account, and then tried to sign in again, but alas, it still said the acc was already linked to another PSN acc, at that point I was very fed up with this situation, and decided to create a new account to link, since I had wasted the money with PS4 Minecraft to play online with my little sister and couldn't do it without linking a MS acc.

After i was done creating a new acc, I was still reluctant in linking it because it would be very annoying not having a shared progress with my existing account, and then decided to try linking my original account once more, and to my surprise, this time it Worked, no frills, did the same thing as before with the aka.ms/remoteconnect, My guess is that whatever disabling 2FA/Changing password did, took some time to work in the back end, I KNEW that my acc was not linked before.

This is a huge testimony of Microsoft bad system on this, there is NO PLACE to check if or what account is linked, the system says your acc is linked when it is not, and you have ZERO support on the matter, you are left on your own with no solution. Im very very happy that it worked, but still very mad that I had to go through with all of these issues and attempts just to login with my account.

I want to leave this post here as additional information base to whoever has this same issue in the future, Maybe this will help.

I will try doing this with my sister's Microsoft account too, since the system also said it was already linked, which is also impossible, since she doesn't even know her password, and I sure know that I never tried login in on a Playstation with her account never before.

I understand that you need help with Minecraft, however Microsoft itself is not the developer of this game.

The thing is that from Microsoft side is not possible to see what accounts you linked previously. This is always done by the account platform itself

And usually that message appears when you had an account linked to your PSN account.
And right now unlink a Microsoft account from a PSN account is not possible.
