Microsoft account on PC is different than Xbox so I can't play games on PC?

Ordered the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate yesterday from my personal account (@gmail.com). This is the account that my gamer tag is on and our Xbox uses. No issues there. This morning I went to install a game on my home PC and the app store shows the account
my PC logs in as - which is my work account (@mycompany.com). That shows me as not having a Game Pass subscription. When I tried "Add a Work or School Account" it won't let me add my @gmail.com account.

So have I really sprung for ultimate and I'm not able to install anything on my PC because Microsoft thinks my @company.com address on my PC is my personal account? Why can't I just link accounts? I can login.microsoft.com from either one.

Try logging out of your account on the Xbox Console companion app, then log in with your Xbox account on it. That should let you play the games. Also try doing that on the Xbox beta app too.

Epic games launcher is exclusive for PC. It's a different store than Microsoft, so you can't merge games

No, you don't need to install a client to play games from the Microsoft store, but you do need to be logged in to your PC with the Microsoft account that purchased the game.

If your playing on the PC, you will need the PC version. The console companion is only if you play on the Xbox console. Not required for PC gaming.

Game Pass is a little different than Steam, as it's subscription based. You pay a monthly fee and you get access to a load of games to play without having to by them. So if you stop paying the subscription, you can't play them any more. It's almost like
renting the games. But you don't rent each one, the monthly fee is to rent them all. You just choose which you would like to play. But not all games are in Game Pass.

It's great value for money and very popular on console.

PC version?

I don't use a PC for playing games. How could I buy a PC version of Quantum Break using an Xbox One app with the Xbox One console?

I can't purchase it again for the same price because it says I have already purchased it. I only can purchase as a gift for someone else.

Looking for it via Xbox Live Marketplace it gives me a different page than the one I reached via the app Microsoft Reward.

Those are the problems.

Whether I remove my account I would lose game saves?

I already own red dead redemption 2 on my Microsoft account for Xbox so why can't I use my Microsoft account to install the game on my PC?

Because like many other games, Red Red Redemption 2 isnt a play anywhere title meaning if you bought it for Xbox then that only entitles you to the Xbox version of the game.

If you want to play the PC version then youll need to purchase the PC version.
