Microsoft Account Not Recognized

Hello Kathy,

I guess there's no way to recover my account then. Is there any way my purchase could be recovered / moved to a different outlook account then?

Thanks for pointing out the causes that could lead to an automatic closing of my account. That was really helpful.

However, since I do have active purchases on my account (Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition), I don't believe that that would be terms to close an inactive account, and the credentials used to login to my lost account I know to be true. Therefore, the only way that my account was lost seems to be the worst-case scenario, someone else gained access to it.

I can't use any of Microsoft's online account recovery tools because I never connected this Minecraft-Only Outlook account to my main ones (no recovery email, phone number, etc.). Since Microsoft's servers don't remember the account to a certain extent (account doesn't exist on login, can't use this username on account creation), I can't recover the account by myself.

Is there any chance that someone at Microsoft can re-activate my account, or better yet add my email here as a recovery email for the lost one so I can finish up the account recovery process myself?

I wish I have a better response to give to you but there is no other way to recovery/move/transfer the purchases from one account to another. We would still hope this will be prevented in the future.

In that case that you cannot search the username when the account itself does not exist, you may try the Sign In Helper Tool. Making sure that you will follow the steps provided on the page. You can contact a live support team if this will be a choice that is given to you.

To answer your question, losing an access to your account could be two things: forgotten credentials like you have email address and password used and as per written and mandated by Microsoft Services Agreement.

1. For forgotten credentials, you may check these support articles:

2. Any violations as per mandated by Microsoft Services Agreement - Microsoft Services Agreement
   
   Such as:
   
   • Violation the terms of usage of Xbox - Xbox Community Standards | Xbox will lead to enforcement and close of Microsoft account (Section 3 b)
     
   • Account Inactivity - Microsoft account activity policy - Microsoft Support (Section 4 a ii)
     
   • You have willingly closed the Microsoft account - (Section 4 a iv and Section 7 a)
     

If those two things were not the main cause of the loss of the account, then that could be lost of access because someone else gained access to your account. There is a big difference in securing your account. Securing your account means you have to add secondary email address and set your phone number as security information of your Microsoft account.
