    Microsoft account not recognised


    Back in 2021, my Microsoft account was hacked. When I tried to log in, I was told I used the wrong password, so I tried the other option which was to send a verification code to ki***@gmail.com, but I don't have any email starting with ki.
    I mostly just gave up on recovering the account for over a year because Microsofts "support" is confusing as hell.
    When I try to log into the account in any way now, it says "Try entering your Microsoft account again. We don't recognize this one."

    I found no product tag suitable for this post, so for now it will be under gaming and Xbox because > Account and profile > Sign-in

    You can change it on a Microsoft account but unfortunately on an Xbox account the date of birth will still be recognised as the original birthdate and therefore a child account.

    Cheers, I've found emails from xbox with the gamertag in but the email is not recognised as a microsoft account, any ideas?

    So I actually got this issue sorted out today. It seems my Microsoft account had become separated from my email.

    Because of this my unique ID for my Microsoft account was not been recognised which was stopping the xbox from recognising my account.

    Someone from Microsoft sent me a email to rename my account again and setup a new email to go with my account.

    Everything is now sorted and I can now sign in to everything.

    Big thankyou to Marc C of Microsoft who sent me the email and got this sorted out for me.

    By billing issue, there seems to be a suggestion that part of the system does not recognise purchases made from a Microsoft account. Although this has to confirmed.
