Microsoft Account Login Issue – Ongoing "Temporary Problem" with 2FA (or rather 3FA OTP/SMS...

I have been unable to access my Microsoft account since around July 28, 2023, due to an issue with two-factor authentication (2FA). I have attempted multiple recovery methods without success. Below is a detailed breakdown of what happened and the steps I’ve taken to resolve it.

Account history per my email:

- December 2, 2015: Purchased and redeemed Microsoft Points via Amazon; receipt confirms association with my account (I have upwards of 5 of these).

- June 2016: Earliest email I can find from Microsoft, but I believe I may created the account earlier.

- July 11, 2017: Email from Bungie regarding the Destiny 2 beta, tied to my original Gamertag: "jameskca13"

- June 18, 2023: Changed either my 2FA settings or password (according to my password manager).

- July 28, 2023: Last successful sign-in (that I can identify)

- June 28, 2024: Submitted a security info replacement request, received confirmation email to no avail.

- July 7, 2024: Changed password again, which was supposed to work, but 2FA started failing.

- Current: issues persist, "temporary issue" has persisted over multiple years...

Current Login Issue:

1. Enter email and password - Successful authentication

2. Prompted for 2FA via Authenticator App

3. Enter correct code - Error: "There was a temporary problem with the service."

4. Try alternative 2FA via Phone Number - Successful authentication

5. Prompted for another 2FA verification

6. Enter correct code - Error: "There was a temporary problem with the service."

This issue has persisted for almost a year, and I have retried multiple times.

Filled out the Account Recovery Form providing:

- Credit card details

- Past PayPal transactions

- Xbox console serial number

- Current gamertag: rogueplrbear

Security Verification

- My phone number is still linked to the account as well as others associated with my name and location

- All login attempts originate from my regular IP and location within my state

- Email remains the same

- Timestamps of events from password changes to login attempts are all available to me as this is literally my account

Tried logging in through GitHub (Linked username: auchterjames as of June 19, 2021) but was unsuccessful — have not utilized this to my knowledge, but it was something I could find as I searched

Why This Is a Problem:

- Financial loss: I have spent significant money on games and services tied to this account well above $1,000

- Loss of access: Years of digital content and subscriptions are now unreachable.

What I Need:

- A Microsoft representative to investigate this issue manually. This is clearly a service issue, not a mistake on my end.

- Alternative verification options. If additional proof is needed, I am willing to provide more information.

I have exhausted all standard recovery methods. If someone at Microsoft is able to review this case and help restore my account, I would be extremely grateful.
