Microsoft account got hacked.

Hello My name is and my account got hacked.

I met someone on minecraft who invited me to their discord server. When I joined the server, it asked me to verify by giving it my email address, I didnt think too much of it and just gave it. Around 10 minutes later, I receive an email stating that changes had been made to my account. I tried to click on recent activity and check, it asked me to login and I could not.

I tried everything I could, even filled out the microsoft form twice. Gave the credit card information of my last transaction, however still nothing. I am absolutely devastated. I am still logged into the minecraft launcher and am playing the game while I can but please can anyone help me.

FYI, I received an email after filling out the form that I had turned on 2FA, however I have never done that on my account, it must have been the hacker, please help

Having said that, unfortunately, from what you said, it's going to be hard to get your account, specially if the hacker turned on 2FA. I'm going to be as blunt as I can, but your account is most likely lost.

Right now the top priority for you should be to contact any payment method that you have linked to your account and let them know what's happening.

After that please go to https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and start a chat. When you get linked to a person ask to be escalated to a Microsoft Advocate for your lost account

Unfortunately the only possible way to recover your account is by filling the account recovery form. If that is unsuccessful, then you may have to come to terms with that your account may be lost indefinitely.

You may try to contact Microsoft/Xbox support if they could help you finding the account using your gamertag but it's not guaranteed that they can help due to our account safety and security.
