According to a fellow independent advisor, Diane Poremsky [ M365 MVP ]: You will need to contact Microsoft to have the address restored to the Xbox account.

I didn't receive any mail from Microsoft regarding my Microsoft account deletion.

From what you’ve shared, it looks like your account might have been deleted because of inactivity or possibly even hacked (this most likely since your account is recently created).

That message saying, “We couldn’t find an account with that username,” usually means the account isn’t in their system anymore. If you try to create a new email with the same username, it’ll probably say something like “that username already exists” or something similar. That’s normal because Microsoft doesn’t recycle email addresses, they block the username from being used again.

I'm afraid to say that it seems your account has been compromised and the hacker managed to change the email address associated with this account.
