Microsoft account blocked - two step verification - no phone number access

I have tried to contact Xbox but they told me that they couldn’t do anything and I should just keep trying to recover my account through the Microsoft recovery form which I cannot do as I have two step verification.

To block password change requests to your Microsoft account, you need to enable two-step verification on your account. This will add an extra layer of security to your account and prevent unauthorized access. To enable two-step verification, follow these steps:

2. Under Two-step verification, select Turn on two-step verification.

3. Follow the instructions to set up your verification methods. You can choose to receive a code via email, phone, or app.

4. Once you have set up your verification methods, you will need to enter a code every time you sign in to your Microsoft account or change your password.

We notice that you only mention phone device and phone number on this concern, what is advised to secure a two-step verification Microsoft account is to add 3 more security information like authentication app, phone number and secondary email. Additionally, you may want to generate recovery code which is accessible through your profile.

It is advisable to add three pieces of security method before turning on two-step verification. That way you can access your account without the need of your phone number or device (phone) for authentication.





Additionally, we suggest that you to access your account on the known device or phone/PC that you once access and verified your account with. You may open a browser where you already have been signed into the website of Microsoft account and manage your security information or else turn off your two-step verification.
