Edge or any console browsers will never tell you to update it's a closed system

That's malware

Only area where you should accept updates is updates on your console NOT via shady websites that give you a popup also you gotta remember it's a CONSOLE not a desktop

You can't run flash and not every site will work as its sandboxed that means certain sites won't work unless they are html5 compliant or not a bank or government that requires certain certificates

If it wss on a PC you'd be infected

Try to restore keeping games and apps, please be sure that you know your account email and password:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console screen, you'll see three option use this one, be sure you remember the email and password of you're accounts:

Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps

Took awhile but seems to have worked. The prompt is gone and everything is actually running faster now. Tyvm for the help!!

Ok >.< I had to end up doing a full wipe. Gonna be quite lengthy restoring things, I'm going to start w/ the apps first to reinstall and and check Edge afterwards one by one, all goes well then I move on to the games and see how it goes. I'll let you know and hopefully close this inquiry in a few hours.
