  2. mic making a buzzing sound

Hello. I'm not the creator of this post but I've got the exact same problem. My drivers and Xbox app are all up to date. I've tried changing my microphone setting in the app and it doesn't do anything. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the app but that
didn't help either. I'm not sure if this information helps or not but this sound exists even when I don't a microphone plugged in at all.

My microphone doesn't want to work when I enable the option on my PC for the Xbox app.

Hello, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your microphone not working in the Xbox app on your PC. As an AI language model, I'm unable to view or analyze images. However, I can provide you with some general troubleshooting steps that may help resolve the issue:

Check microphone settings: Open the sound settings on your PC and ensure that the correct microphone is selected as the default recording device. You can right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds" or go to the Windows Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel to access the sound settings.

Test the microphone in other applications: Try using the microphone in other applications or communication platforms (such as Skype or Discord) to determine if the issue is specific to the Xbox app. If the microphone works fine in other applications, it suggests that the problem might be related to the Xbox app itself.

Update the Xbox app: Make sure that you have the latest version of the Xbox app installed on your PC. Check for any available updates in the Microsoft Store or manually update the app to ensure you have the most recent version.

Check app permissions: Verify that the Xbox app has permission to access your microphone. You can do this by going to the Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone and ensure that the "Allow apps to access your microphone" option is enabled, and that the Xbox app is listed and allowed.

Reinstall the Xbox app: If the issue persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app on your PC. This can help resolve any potential software conflicts or corrupted files that may be causing the problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards.

"The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported" Error Please help

Thanks for keeping us updated. We would like to verify if you were able to create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10 and check if the issue persists.

We'll be waiting for your reply.

I created a local user and an administrator account, and the issue occurred on both accounts.

The problem still occurs on my normal Windows 10 account.

    Hi,

It seems that you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps to isolate the main issue. The issue happens to your old account and new account, so basically this is is not an issue with the account. This could be a problem with the device or microphone
itself. For us to make sure of it, we suggest that you try using your microphone on a different PC using the same account. You can also try using a different microphone to the same PC you're using right now. This will help us identify if the problem is your
    PC or the microphone.

Update us with the results for further assistance.

Ok, so I signed into the Xbox App on a different PC with my Microsoft account and tried to use my microphone, but it did not work. I noticed that it gave me more sample rate options on the other PC, though, I'm not sure why. I also tried a different microphone
on my PC, which worked and did not give me any errors. I would like to say though that the microphone that is giving me the error works in all communication apps except for the Xbox App.

Thank you for that information. It only means that there's no problem with your account and Xbox app. Other microphone works fine on your Xbox app, so basically it could be a compatibility issue with your microphone. We would like
to know which type of microphone are you using. Also, is this first time that you're going to use that microphone on your device to access Xbox app?

I'm using a headset microphone by Steelseries, called Siberia 350. Also I believe I have used the Xbox App with this microphone in the past and had no issues, but I'm not completely sure on that, it may have been a different microphone.
Based on the error message that you received and the result of our troubleshooting, it only shows that the problem is the compatibility of your microphone. Since other microphone works fine on your Xbox app, we can confirm that there's no issue with the
app itself. In this case, it would be best if you contact the manufacturer of your microphone for them to help you sort this out right away.

Thank you for your kind understanding. Feel free to post back so we could assist you accordingly.
