    Hi.

    I saw a post today on Twitter that said the Xbox Share Button is getting more functionality and I love this idea. When I went through the list of available actions you could remap this button though I noticed that microphone muting wasn't one of them. Which is a missed opportunity.

    Lots of us don't have a dedicated button on their headset for this. And the current solution is to hit the Xbox button, scroll down so you highlight your party and then hit a button to mute. This is not very convenient during gameplay. And takes too much time if you need to mute immediately (i.e to spare the party members ears when I cough etc)

    Getting the option to mute our microphone with the share button would be great. And I'm used to it on the PS5 controller as well, it makes sense to have it readily available.

    Hope you guys will consider to add this in a future Xbox dashboard release.

    Check to see if the microphone on the headset is muted. Some headsets have a mute button on the headset itself or on the cable.

    To check if the microphone on your headset is muted, follow these steps:

    Open the "Settings" application.
    Select "Sound & Display".
    Select "Audio".
    Select "Microphone".
    Check the "Microphone Mute" button. If the button is on, the microphone is muted.

    Check your console's audio settings. Make sure that the headset microphone is selected as the audio input device.

    To check your console's audio settings, follow these steps:

    Open the "Settings" application.
    Select "Sound & Display".
    Select "Audio".
    Select "Input Devices".
    Make sure that the headset microphone is selected as the input device.

    You can also test the headset on another version of the console. If the microphone works on another version of the console, then the problem is related to your console version. In this case, it is possible that your console is not compatible with your headset.

    Switch on the cable is on

    If you have a chat pad check mute button

    In Xbox system preferences check microphone volume

    go to your party screen and press 'X' this toggles the mute and unmute on the party.

    the 'Y' button toggles you muting your microphone also in the party screen :)

    If you do not have this headset on the Xbox Adapter but you have it on the classic jack, you can have the microphone muted in the Audius Headset setting, press the dashboard on the xbox, move the button to the toothed wheel and there will be an AUDIO and
