    Mic won't work on Xbox but will on app?


    So I can hear everyone else but they can't hear me. I've tried different controllers and head phones but still have the same issue.

    I tried my headset with the xbox app on my phone and created a party and was able to use my headset and people could hear me speak.



    I go back and try to do the same through the xbox and it just won't work.



    What can I do? Anyone else have the same problem?

    Yes I've already checked this and the headset mic is toggled On, but it still won't work.

    Hi SpeedstrX!

    It may be an issue of the microphone being disabled.

    Try these steps to check and see if it is enabled:

    • Tap the Xbox Button on your controller
    • Go down to the Audio button at the botton-right corner of the navigation panel.
    • Make sure the 'Headset Mic' toggle is set to 'On'.

    If you don't see the toggle, then it's an issue with the headset's connection to the controller.

    That won't work at all. There's no way for the Mic audio to get to the Xbox. You have to plug the headset into the controller for the mic to work, or use a licensed USB or wireless based peripheral.

    On Xbox party my microphone won't work but I'm able to hear the game sound and my friends talk. I have had this problem for a while now and I have tried(I think) every way to fix this. This can't be my controller or headset because I used the xbox
    app on my phone without the headset but it won't detect any voice out of it either. This is clearly some software issue thing and I need help to fix it.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox Forums am truly sorry what you are experiencing, I would recommend you buying a Headset adapter because I previously had the same problem but now since I got headset adapter everything works fine.
