    Mic stops working on Xbox S, have to unplug console


    Almost every day here lately when I join parties my mic will not be picking up my voice and I can't hear others in my headphones. I have returned headsets thinking it was faulty headsets but I finally started checking on different consoles and my headset is fine. Just restarting the Xbox doesn't fix the problem, but if I completely unplug the console and then restart it, my mic will start working again. This has happened with both wireless mics as well as plug in to the controller ones. The Xbox S is less than a year old.

    Since you tested your headset with other consoles and controllers, the headset is not the issue here. It could be your console or controller. May I know if your controller is updated?

    is your Xbox controller updated?

    You can check how to do it here.

    Maybe that will solve this issue.

    Are you also able to try it with a different controller? Perhaps the problem is with the controller and not with the console itself.

    If my headset isn't connected to the controller it shouldn't have anything to do with the controller should it? The headset is wireless so it pairs directly to the Xbox through a wireless USB connection.

    I have an adult account and it the mic was fine and worked then suddenly it stopped working and I have restarted my xbox and unplugged it many times so I will call xbox support thankyou for your help

    Well, I have tried my Turtle Beach x11's AND my regular xbox mic and 2 controllers and neither of them worked. But the funny thing is that when i unplug my x11's I can hear myself talking but then they cant hear me! ... and yes all is wireless but my regular
