Mic problems on Xbox 360 chats.

Asked a bit ago, mic works on the Xbox one chats perfectly fine, the MOMENT it tries to work on Xbox 360, nothing. I can hear my games and other people talking but it doesn't pick up my own microphone, any potential suggestions?

    :)

No I've already tried. It works like normal when I'm playing Xbox one games, my mic works and I can hear my games, but whenever I go a 360 game and try to talk it doesn't pick up my microphone. Could it be my controller? I use a turtle beach react-r wired controller.

    Hello Ethan,

Nilay here and I'm glad to answer your query today.

If you are having trouble hearing the chat audio while using the Xbox Headset, or if your friends are unable to hear you, you can try these solutions. However, make sure you have checked whether your headset is not muted.

Unplug the headset cable from the bottom of the Xbox controller and reconnect it firmly.

Go to your privacy settings and allow communication with everyone. You can do so by tapping the Xbox button. Now, go to System > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and make the changes.

Unmute or unblock those you are looking to chat with. Tap the Xbox button. In the guide, click on Multiplayer > Party. Tap on Party to open up the party roster, and select the people you want to unmute, and select Unmute.
If your chat audio is not clear or a bit choppy, this could also be related to your Xbox One controller update. To fix this, both you and the friend will need to ensure that your controllers are up to date.

You also need to make sure that you're not experiencing network latency or other network problems.

If you are using Apple EarPods, you must be aware that Xbox does not support a few of them. Nevertheless, there is a simple workaround all you have to do is follow the steps given below to start using your EarPods with your Xbox One console-

Plug the headphones in and double-tap on the Xbox button which is at the top centre of your controller.

Now, go to the settings gear and disable the option "Headset Mic"

Then, turn down the "Mic Monitoring".

    Good Luck
    Regards

If the mic is working fine with other controllers then I suspect the 360 has issues there.

    Another headset adaptor issue

I have a similar problem. It appears to possibly be a broken chat lead, as I checked it with my Xbox 360, with chat audio just coming through the mic, and found that I could not hear chat audio through it still, but people could hear me.

    Is the tritton warhead compatible

The "mic" you're referring to is the boom mic that plugs into the headset.

The mic I'm referring to is the chat system that allows one to talk to other players. Normally, that's supported by a wired mic cable that goes from the 360 controller to other headsets. On all other 360 headsets, a cable is required from the base of the
360 controller to the headset for chat. Even the wireless Astro A50 has a mic cable port to go to the 360 controller.

On the Tritton Warhead, that's all done wirelessly, same as the Microsoft Wireless Mic for 360 works. Tritton integrated the wireless mic into the headset base unit so that the headset can be completely wireless - no wired mic cable going to the controller.

It's the wired mic cable that the Tritton Warhead lacks that is the problem. There will be no way for the Warhead's base unit to sync its wireless mic with the Xbox One.

If all you want to do is use the Warhead as a wireless headset without a mic, it will be fine. If you want mic support, it won't.
