Mic or kinects voice won't work

Discus and support Mic or kinects voice won't work in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but my mic or my kinects for my 360 will not work....It says my mic is plugged in but neither...     Mic or kinects voice won't work


    Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but my mic or my kinects for my 360 will not work....It says my mic is plugged in but neither will pick up my voice....I have tried 2 head sets...I've unplugged and replugged everything back in twice...tried
    different controllers, checked all the settings...etc...I'm basically out of options and I have no clue what the problem is....I can hear my friends perfectly but they can't hear me....any suggestions??

    Hello all,

    I ran into this issue a couple of weeks ago. My mic stopped picking up my voice, but Xbox detected the mic and played back voice through the headset.

    I tried the mic on two different controllers and it wouldn't work on either. Xbox detects the mic, but it won't record any voice. So I went out and bought a brand new $20 headset - NO LUCK. The new headset doesn't work on either controller. Once again, Xbox
    detects the mic and I can hear my friends through the headset but the mic won't pickup my voice.

    My privacy settings are fine and my Kinect mic works. What in the heck is going on here? This is driving me insane!

    So for all of those who'd say that using a mic won't work at all due to the Kinect having Voice Recognition... I remember playing SOCOM nearly a decade ago and using the mic to speak ingame. I recall using the same phrase
    II PARALAX II ingame numerous times, so there is precedent of using a mic in lieu of a gimmick.

    Help with Kinect placement/ XB Fitness

    the voice commands won't matter as long as the the mic picks you up.

    the gestures will work but they are relavent to to the camera, so I think you have to be looking t the kinect, but I would move it for the fitness and move it inlint with the TV after.

    Stupid question but have to ask

    Yes I have heard the a lot of voices/noises in the backround while playing against people who have their kinect turned on as a mic. It can be switched off as a setting which allows the kinect to work but not be used as a mic for in game chat.

    Well, I figured out with a friend that it switches from Kinect voice chat to my mics voice chat when I boot up a game. Basically, my mic doesn't work when I'm not playing an actual game (even with Kinect chat off), but then does work upon immediately booting
    up let's say Dead Rising 3.

    Kinda strange.

    ...and for those who still think that voice commands couldn't be done without a Kinect... there's this magical thing called voice recognition software. I won't go into all of my devices that have this... phone, tablet,
    pc's, blah blah blah. Astonishingly all that is needed is the built in mic or the mic one plugs in. A simple voice recognition app snapped could handle those voice commands.
    IMO. :p
    Unfortunately as I've already stated, the game line up for a Kinect is beyond a joke considering Microsoft required a Kinect in the beginning of the One's life. This has forced some gamers to cling to voice commands as the great and wonderful thing that a Kinect
    is needed for. Fortunately for those of us who do fine without them, there is now a choice. :)
