MIC on the xbox app windows 11 isn't working

• Current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)
  
• Xbox app and Gaming services version?
  
  • Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.
    
• Was this working before?
  
• Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?
  
• Does the issue only appear when using the Xbox App?

Open sound Settings by right clicking on the speaker icon

Locate Sound Control Panel

Under the recording tab

Make sure that you set the proper input device for the Microphone

Open Device Manager

Expand Audio, Input and outputs

Right click on the driver then move to the driver tab





Choose Roll Back Driver and test

Or Choose Update driver then test

If both options will not work

Choose the Uninstall device option

Click Ok

On the device Manager main page

Click Action

Then Scan for hardware changes





Go to Settings

Apps

Apps & Features

Locate Xbox App

Click Advaced options then reset

• Visit the Windows 11 download website Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
  
• Download Windows 11 Disk Image(ISO) (multi-edition ISO)
  
• Once the ISO has finished downloading, kindly select it with the right click, select Mount, and then select Setup.exe.
  
• Click Next in the Install Windows 11 dialog box.
  
• A licensing agreement will be displayed when setup checks your computer. In the license terms dialog, click Accept.
  
• Wait for the setup program to check the free space that is available.
  
• Make sure the box next to Keep personal files and apps is checked on the Ready to install page.
  
• Click install
  
• Restart will be experienced a few times then it will lead you to the lock screen wherein you can sign in

-checked the windows store and the game bar doesn't need to be updated

-checked the app settings to see if the notifications where off, it was all on, should be working but it isn't

Can you provide a screenshot of what you're describing please?

There isn't an 'Xbox Mode' on either Windows 10 or Windows 11. It sounds like the Xbox App is starting with Windows. You can disable this from within the Xbox app itself.
