Mic buzz only with new controller, and only when wireless

Hi there,

As the title suggests, I have a buzzing sound coming from my mic, but only with a brand new Xbox One controller, and only when connected wirelessly. I have the original Xbox One, so it doesn't support Bluetooth, though the controller is brand new, so it's
one of the ones that supports Bluetooth.

By "mic buzz", I mean every time I speak either in the party or in a message that I record then playback for myself, there's an annoying buzzing sound along with it.

At first, I thought it was a bad controller, so I exchanged it for a new one (making sure to check the Lot No. / Date to make sure I got one from a different batch), and I still have the same buzz.

When connected via USB, the buzzing goes away, and the buzzing is also not there when using the controller that originally came with the Xbox, so I know my mic is okay. My headset is a Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 70X.

I suspected maybe it was the batteries, as I'm using Panasonic eneloop pro K-KJ17KHCA4A rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, but I tried with the Duracell OEM batteries that come in the controller's box and still got the same buzz.

I tried turning off Mic Monitoring as well, to no avail.

Any ideas why this only happens when connected wirelessly? And/or how to mitigate it?

I mean ya I'm just assuming it really is the bluetooth built into the controller causing the issue itself which would be quite strange but it would kinda make sense because after all when its plugged in the bluetooth wireless and the mic when wireless
dont have ends to connect to make a sound between the two

Sorry to hear you are having these problems with your Mic/Headset. the best thing i can recommend is that you try some of the trouble shooting tips in the link i listed below. if you still have no success then

I had that too but it was only once I has my wireless headset plugged in. The only problem im facing is poor mic quality when using party chat.

Did yours stop buzzing? I don't have it plugged in, I'm using it wireless.

When my mic is plugged in everyone says they hear a loud buzz but I dont hear anything, then when I unplug my mic I hear the buzz through my tv speakers but only while playing destiny

Hello, so I got a problem with using a mic on my Xbox One X.

My friend told he'd always hear a buzzing noise when I'd talk in Party Chat.

Connecting the controllers with a USB cable to my console only enhances the buzzing noise, and makes it almost unbearable for my Chat members.

Is your controller powered via an USB power supply during that time?

My friends also sometimes complain about a buzzing sound when I'm charging my controller via USB. Also, another friend produces buzzing when he charges his controller via USB.

So it's probably not your Y cable or microphone, as the original Xbox chat headset also buzzes, when the controller charges via USB.

However, when I remove the USB charging cable, the buzzing stops.

So if you still have a buzzing sound, do you have to power the microphone?
