Mic and headphone isnt loud

Hey, instead of this problem only happening in fortnite, my the xbox isnt picking up any sound but has been working fine for several months. My mic monitering is working like always, it relays sound back to me of its too loud, but the xbox isnt sensing
any audio at all from the mic.

Hello, I am experiencing the exact same issue. I got myself some new headphones and there is a loud hissing noise when connected to the Xbox One S controller. The volume decreases, when turning mic monitoring all the way down (it has a line-in mic), but
is never fully disappears.

If you can hear yourself in another users headset like an echo, it is usually down to the fact that the friend in question has his mic to close to the headphones, the headphones are too loud, he has chat still playing through his tv speakers and his tv sound
is still on or to loud or the headset is not quite plugged in properly?

It can also be a NAT issue so you may also want to check that. (there may be other reasons but can't think of them at the moment).

I have a similar problem but when I try to use my blue yeti mic the headphone splitter and turtle beach headphone adapter which has always worked for me, all of a sudden I couldn’t hear any game audio. I was able to the hear party chat but it was very loud and I could hear through my left ear it wasn’t my headphones, or controller does anyone know how to fix this?

it depends who is hearing the echo.

if you are hearing an echo then it is most likely that someone else in your party has their mic gain too high and has party chat through their TV or too loud in their headphones. check whose name shows when you hear the echo.

they would need to turn down party chat volume and/or change their mic sensitivity
