Metro Exodus crashing after intro

I’m trying to play Metro Exodus on my XBox Series X and it crashes immediately after the intro scene prior to going to the main menu. After the intro, or if I press X to skip it, it briefly makes a noise, the screen turns black, and it returns to the XBox Home Screen. I played it previously on my One X prior to upgrading and had no issues.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game four times. I’ve tried lowering my resolution settings. I’ve tried a power cycle on the Xbox, and I’ve also reset all Xbox settings. I've also tried clearing the alt mac address. None of that worked.

Has anyone got a fix?

I don't think that's the problem because you can start it and it crashes right after the intro like you said. I recommend that you try the solution below, if that doesn't work, you'll have to wait for a response from the game developer.

-Remove the disc from your console.

-Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

-Go to System.

-Select Settings.

-Go to System.

-Select Storage.

-Select Clear local saved games.

-Select Yes to confirm

-Once your console restarts, try installing the game again.

Any idea why it doens't show up in my list of owned games? Maybe that's the issue?

Reading your problem I realized that you tried several things that would normally solve the problem, I ask you to try the solutions that I'll give you below.

Solution 1:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

*After that restart your console, and add the account again.

Solution 2:

Go to your games and apps, select Metro Exodus, and click the control menu button on it, then choose the option manage add-ons and games, delete your saved data from the console only.

*Don't worry if you already have some game progress, they'll be in the cloud.

Solution 3:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

*Select to keep your games and apps so they won't be deleted.
