I have made a new account but i cant message on the xbox account to anyone ive checked my reputation and its perfect and resetting the xbox doesnt work

I try to send messages on xbox to my friends but it's not letting me. My account is in good standing, and my security info is up to date. I also agreed to the new terms and conditions on microsoft. so why?

But only happens on the console? Do you can message on xbox app or in the browser?

I'm sorry to hear that. Usually when receiving this type of error with a new account it just wants for the account to be verified. As it states on our article:

Why can't I send messages from my Xbox One or the Xbox app?

For this follow the instructions:

1. Sign in at
   account.live.com/reputationcheck.
2. Add your phone number, then select Send code.
3. Get the code from the text message sent to your phone, enter it on the webpage, and select
   Submit.

Let's perform a
Power cycle on your Xbox.

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 30 seconds.
   Important Be sure to wait 30 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
   
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
