Message keeps coming up that need to renew subscription so no access to Xbox live.

Hi CrazyDDawg you account when you sign up for xbox live will tell you that the account will be set on an auto renewal right from the start you also get an email stating the same facts as well. If you sign up for a promotion its always good to double check
your transaction so that you know for sure you are charge correctly. You will also get a notification that your account is set to auto renew when the times comes around. each time it renews you get a notification. I would check your emails spam, and verify
that your email is set correctly so you can get the notifications. If you need to cancel your auto renewal can do so on xbox.com or at account.microsoft.com

To stop automatically renewing your subscription, but keep using it until it expires:

1.Sign in to your services and subscriptions page with your Microsoft account.

2.Find the subscription you want to stop renewing, then select Turn off auto-renew.

3.Select Confirm cancellation.

please keep in mind that you will need to cancel the auto renewal before your renewal date is set if you cancel the auto renewal after your new renewal you could be charged for the following month

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. In my games and apps it will say gold do you see a number beside that. These are the games with gold. Also like Smwutches stated if the gold subscription has expired, than they will not show up until you
renew it. The Xbox live gold subscription needs to be active to access the games with gold you have got.

the fact that on Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your

Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again. On
Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription. We hope this helps!

It's a scam. The error message is fake. I've tried multiple times in the last 6 months to cancel and here's what I've come up with:

Xbox Live does not let you cancel your subscription or remove a payment option, if you have an outstanding balance.

Xbox Live auto-renews your monthly subscription, but won't actually charge it. It will keep it "pending" until the next time it tries to auto-renew.

I went to account.xbox.com and it said I was charged and paid for my monthly xbox live service. But when I checked commerce.microsoft.com, it said the charge was still pending, 13 days later.

So essentially, you're ALWAYS with an outstanding balance, so you can't modify your payment options.

It took over 30 minutes with Customer Support to clarify this. I have still not been able to cancel my subscription.
