Wow, such a mess. I added my son to a Family Group to manage his online access. Later, He asks me to add friends in Minecraft. Right now, I've spent about 6 hours trying to get this to work and a I'm a 20 year veteran as a developer and systems admin. This is on a PC, it tells you to go to family and manage his access there except there is nowhere to make Xbox / Minecraft options in his family profile. So I then remove him and I even change his date of birth, still I can't add friends. I've logged in and out numerous times but it's still redirecting me to the family groups. So then I get the idea to re add him to family groups but as a parent so he can hopefully manage his own settings. This kind of works because now I can see all the controls to allow and block and I allow everything, I can search for users, bring them up etc but now when I try and add, the user interface doesn't. Respond at all but since I'm a web developer, I open the console to see what is going on. The Ajax request is sent to the account/API/V1/social/AddFriends URL but it returns a 400 response with the "call to interaction service resulted in bad request" What a hot mess. Will someone give me any real help or send me an one of many links I've already read?

We understand that you are trying to allow your son add his friends on Minecraft and is unable to. Let us check on this together so you will get back to gaming.

Great to hear that you were looking forward on how to manage your son's account by making use of Microsoft Family. In that case, would you mind if you can please confirm if you already have performed the steps below?

Kindly check the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab from settings under your son's Xbox account allowing him to add friends and join multiplayer. Please follow this link and kindly sign into your account (not your son's account) - Privacy & online safety.
Then, kindly check or explore other options from Privacy tab.

On Minecraft, kindly sign out your son's account and re-sign in back to the game.

Same thing happening for me - for at least half a year now. Should it help in anyway: when attempting to save any changes the first time, the requests results in a 404 Conflict with the Message "Call to Privilege Settings Service resulted in a conflict.".
Trying to save changes after that, won't result in any errors, but no settings are actually changed after reloading the page.

If they focus enough on survival aside from the zombies (food and such) and enough on the social interactions between Daryl and his brother and other humans, it may not be so bad. Seeing Activision's name definitely is not pleasing.

Social interaction, actually, may be an issue. While moral choices can still be present, Daryl isn't exactly the nicest fellow and his brother is even worse.

I can also confirm the "Unable to join party chat at this time" error messages are so bad and consistent, our game group simply uses Skype now instead (which in itself is very unstable right now)

The social interaction on Xbox one isn't even on par with the Xbox 360 experience right now, yet taking any significant steps forward.

This is the prime reason why I subscribe to the live service guys. Need a fix in place for this ASAP thanks!
