Merging old hotmail account into New Outlook account

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. I'm sorry to inform you the option to transfer/merge saved data, achievements and any/or game purchases from another Microsoft Account will not be possible. We currently do not have an available feature.
The one step we have available is changing the primary email on the Microsoft account. You
can however set up home console on your main profile. Note: If
you choose to remove an alias that uses a Microsoft domain such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, or @live.com, that alias will be completely deleted and will not be available to sign in to any Microsoft services. A microsoft and Xbox
account are one and the same. As there is nothing more I will be locking this thread.

the account connected to my old gamertag is a microsoft account, but it doesn't have @outlook or @hotmail) and the new email account that I want to be connected to my old gamertag is also a microsoft account but @gmail, not @outlook or @hotmail

Since both of your accounts are Microsoft Accounts (i.e. your @live account and the >Hotmail/Outlook account), you can't merge these two into one Microsoft Account via a sign in alias.

Is there a specific reason, why the purchase of the Ultimate Game Pass has to be done on the new account?

If the new account is "simply" used for your current emails and stuff, you could make your @live account your sign in account for your PC, and add the Hotmail/Outlook account as an additional account to your PC, and still access Mail and other Microsoft
Account services.

I guess the simplest reason is convenience. The hotmail/outlook account is used for virtually everything, and thats why its used to log into my PC. It seemed like the thing to do at this point would be to merge the live account with the hotmail/outlook account,
though from these replies it sounds like thats not possible.

The reason I didnt want to purchase on the old account, was because If I purchase on the @live account then every time I want to play on PC ill have to log out of my Microsoft accounts with my hotmail/outlook account and relog with my @live account. So while
it sounds lazy, it just seems like a hassle to do that everytime I want to play.

Your solution is helpful though, and if theres nothing else I can figure out, then I'll probably just do what you and others have said. Thank you for taking time to reply to this, i appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I created the outlook address literally an hour after they started enrolling and snagged THE email address I wanted…., not knowing you could rename the Hotmail account. From what I’ve been told at Microsoft Answers.com. you cannot change
or merge Hotmail and Outlook accounts once they have been created separately, nor can you use an existing Outlook account as an alias to another account.

Merging two Accounts is not possible. You could try to change the email to your hotmail/outlook adress. Maybe this will solve your issue.
