    Merge old xbox account into current windows account


    Hey,

    So I have an old microsoft account that's using a yahoo email that really only has my gamertag associated with it, and I want to move/merge that gamertag into my active/in-use microsoft account that's using a gmail email.

    Is it possible to move the gamertag and its data to the new account? There really isn't anything else on it so I'm hoping data loss wouldn't be a concern.

    Hey,

    So if I wanted to avoid losing the old account or abandoning it, how much would I be putting my system and files at risk by switching administrator accounts on my PC? Not sure if there's a high risk or anything but I'm concerned about losing the ability to
    manage files and programs properly given this PC has been on the gmail account for years.

    No. Unfortunately accounts cannot be merged and nothing is transferrable between accounts

    Well, there's no merging, per se.



    However, you want the old Microsoft Account (formerly known as the Windows Live ID) on the new gamertag, right?



    Then, on the OLD account, change the Microsoft account by going to
    http://account.live.com     where you sign in w/ the OLD Windows Live ID then go to
    account.live.com/ChangeID.aspx and change the OLD Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) to an email address you create on the spot at HOTMAIL or LIVE.



    30 days later, you can reuse that email address on the NEW account so the NEW account gets changed to the old Windows Live ID. That 30-day 'speed bump' BTW is required by the security folks at Microsoft Accounts and is not the idea of Xbox, FYI.

    Help with Origin

    Origin Accounts are the same as the old EA Accounts. If you already had an EA account then you just need to log into Origin (software, game,or website) with your old EA creditials. EA support might be able to merge accounts, they merged my old BF2 account
    into my EA account a long while back.
