Mercenaries 1 keeps freezing on Xbox 360

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to run your Xbox Original backwards compatible game. If you're having problems playing the game on the 360, I would try following the steps here on

Xbox 360 Screen Freeze Solution.

If that doesn't help, I'd rolling back your updates (uninstalling them and reinstalling the most recent ones from Xbox Live directly) by following the instructions on Solution 7 of our

Troubleshoot problems with an update to your Xbox 360 console.

It might take time to get the bugs worked out when switching from its intended platform to a new one, something that's not always possible on a small sample size such as before a switch to Games With Gold where player numbers will be naturally smaller.
Hopefully it's fixed soon because I remember that game being far too much fun & when I have time I'm going to relive it in the new year!

you playing Mercenaries on an Xbox 360 or on an Xbox One via the 360 emulator?

So too whoever reads this, I found a permament solution to mercenaries 1 freezing on the xbox! so i figured this out after the second disc i bought froze again, I did some research, and what you have to do, is clear your system cache, and then you will be
able to download xbox original updates. I dont know for how long or what, but you cant download it until you clear system cache, and once u download the mercenaries 1 update, it will be fixed. Signs of this problem, are when u go to the chinese territory your
map will turn blue and it will freeze soon after. hope this helps. If u need help feel free to add me on xbox and i can walk u thru it thru voice chat

I tried it on my brothers xbox and it froze too, also tried deleting the save file and system cache, so I assume it is the disc then? Anyhow I bought it off amazon, they said I could get a refund so I most likely will and then just try buying from a different
user. Thanks for your help.
