    Memory Unit Has Corrupted Profile That Will Not Delete and Cannot Download Update


    I have looked at all previous threads and help pages regarding this matter.

    I have an Xbox 360 E 4GB that I bought used. It didn't come with a hard drive, so I bought one at GameStop.

    I have been trying to download an XBox Live update since I first bought this thing. I have received numerous error status codes, the latest being 445E-4476-1380-267F-C000-0185; the help pages regarding the error code have been attempted with no success thus
    far.

    I have tried to format the 4GB memory unit to no avail. I have tried deleting the saved info from the memory unit. I tried using a USB flash drive to install the update, but the restart never prompted the install to start. I've done the initial setup, I've
    done the format where the serial number has to be inputted. Nothing has worked and I feel that it is directly tied to the memory unit not being able to be cleared of the saved data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    System update unavailable

    Go into memory unit and delete the corrupted update, re-download and sign into xbox live.

    xbox live connect to xbox live problem when playing arcade game

    I delete my corrupted profile then i download my profile then my profile moved from memory console to memory unit

    then i played minecraft it fixed

    Hello GTank,

    Sorry for the issue with memory unit. Have you tried another memory unit to see if it is able to be read in the 360? Also you could try to take the memory unit to Gamestop where you bought and see if they can help you clear it. As for the console if its
    the internal memory that wont update could be a mechanical issue with the internal hard drive. Try these out and let us know how it goes.

    When the memory units fail in those Xbox 360 consoles, you can't delete or install anything and you'll often get prompted to install a system update which won't install either.

    If you can try and exchange the 360 with gamestop that would be best and get a 360 without a memory unit. The systems without a memory unit will require an internal hard drive.

    That's what I'm leaning towards as well as the root cause of the problem - the memory card is failing.

    Sorry for the issue with memory unit. Have you tried another memory unit to see if it is able to be read in the 360? Also you could try to take the memory unit to Gamestop where you bought and see if they can help you clear it. As for the console if its

    That's what I'm leaning towards as well as the root cause of the problem - the memory card is failing.
