Membership stupidity

Its possibly you had your Xbox live gold subscription on auto renew and that's what's happen. You can manage your billing and subscriptions by signing into your Microsoft account.

As Smwutches indicated, Microsoft is not responsible for validating the status of your payment method. If it is still in their system, they will assume that it is an active payment method.

Thanks for coming to the forums. If auto renew was left on, then at the end of your subscription this will auto renew. So yes it will try and charge your card at this time. You can view your subscriptions on the
Account website under subscriptions. You can request a call from support to go over your account with you.

When you go to Contact Us to get it to request a chat follow these steps:

• Step 1 ----select Xbox One
  
• Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
  
• Step 3-----select show contact options
  
  Step 4 ----select request call from support
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Because unless you remove the card or turn off auto-renewal before they charge you, they don't know there's anything wrong with the card. As far as they know, it's still a valid payment method because you still have it on file.
