  1. Media Player App not Recognizing Video Content; Xbox One

The Media Player App is not recognizing video content from my external hard drive. The console displays the following message "No files found. We couldn't finad any photos, videos, or music in this folder". Additionally, the console is not able to stream
video content from my home computer on my shared network. I've have been able to do both in the past without issue. I've tried the hard drive on three computers with success of playing video content. The hard drive is a 2TB Seagate Expansion Drive (SRD00F2)
with 3.0 usb connection. The video files are MP4. The Media Player App does recognize music and photos from the Seagate hard drive. Any help? Thanks.

Note: I've already contacted Xbox One Customer Support via phone and preformed the following troubleshooting:

1.Ensured the Xbox One recognized the hard drive in storage settings

    2.Updated console

    3.Soft-reset

    4.Switched usb ports

    :)

Streaming Media from my PC to my Xbox One

I am having issues with the same thing. On the 360 I could go to "My Video Apps" select the the app "System Video Player". When I would select it all my network devices would come up (computers and network hard drives etc.) I could select one of them
and play media content from any of the devices.

On the Xbox One the "System Video Player" app doesn't exist. Without a Windows 8 computer, how do you play the content via Xbox One?

Media capabilities of the Xbox one is appalling, you cannot plug in a USB drive and play back media files, and you cannot use the xbox one to play content from a DNLA media server instead you have to push content to it. So if you have a media server you have to use another device i.e laptop/tablet/phone to pull the content from the server and push it to the xbox one.

Also the xbox one does not play back 4K video (H264) in .MP4 container, I can push 4k video from a smartphone (snapdragon 800) to a pc running windows media player fine, but not to the xbox one.

Talk about going next gen, they seriously crippled the media capabilities of this system, most probably so you buy/rent content from the xbox one video market place.

  5. Hey. Thanks for responding. I haven't tried a different hard drive but I have found a solution. I typically sort my video files from my other media (pictures, music, etc.) by placing them in sub folders. I removed the video files from the sub folder and
placed the files in the root folder of the drive. The Xbox was able to recognize my videos!

Side Note: Spoke to someone about this issue and they believe the sub folder's name convention combined with the lengthy name convention of the video files caused the Xbox not to recognize the files. So don't give your folders or files long names. Any truth
    to this?

    Media player app stoped working

Hi, the error is on the Xbox One X.

    Error code per below:

    0xc00d11c6 (0x8007000e)

The above code only appears on the "media player" app.

    The note will say:

"Sorry, the app needs to restart"

Understand that the Xbox is a versatile media player however just about any content/file type I play through it the video either gets pixelated, frequently pauses or stops. The streaming isn't smooth.

I have also tried various apps such as Media Player, Media Player Pro and VLC.

    *I'm using an external HDD*

Media Player Not showing MKV files.

There are no warnings or error messages.

When I select all video's in the Media Player App, it shows all my videos on my media server apart from the mkv videos.

I know there are mkv videos on the media server, but the Xbox Media Player App doesn't show them.

EDIT- I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Media Player App. That didn't solve the problem.
