    Media Player and Blu-Ray Player apps are unavailable for download


    Hello, I just bought Xbox One Elite. I have tried to download Media Player and Blu-Ray Player several times but it just says unavailable. Internet connection is fine. Why aren't both Players on it out of the box or added in a update?

    Any advice please?

    Play videos on burned discs

    I've put a disk in and none of the apps even see the optical blu ray drive let alone any media files on it. The blu ray player app does play media on a blu ray disk that is in the proper blu ray format, but VLC, or even the file explorer app do not even display the optical drive. I can play media on an external drive using VLC.

    You tried to watch a Blu-Ray with the media player app? That's not what it's for. It's for streaming videos and pictures from your other devices or from a USB. If you wanted to watch a Blu-Ray, all you had to do was download the Blu-Ray app and then put
    the disc in the drive...

    Snart is correct. Thanks to additional DRM security built into the system, all video media that's played on a disc needs to be verified by either the Video Player app or the Blu Ray Player app.

    Gone are the days of the 360 system media player.

    Unfortunately, that didn't help. Also, on my Games and Apps list, under Queues, the icon for the blu-ray player download is blacked out and has no description or indication that it is the blu-ray player download.

    I have also had the same issue (since the most recent update). Only seems to affect the blu ray player app. Netflix and the media player app are working as expected.

    Xbox One can play Blu-Rays, you just need to download the Blu-Ray Player app for it, & it's free too.
