Me and my mom used the same email for our Microsoft accounts and now they are the same...

I’m want to use my Xbox live account again, however, when I first set it up it was linked to my mom’s Microsoft account.

I want to transfer the Xbox account along with all the data, friends, and followers to my Microsoft account. But I also don’t want to mess with my mom’s Microsoft account and the data she has there.

So in the end I want the Xbox account to be linked to my email with my Microsoft data and my mom’s email and Microsoft data to no longer be associated with the Xbox account.

If you follow the advice Annanda Martins gave and delete your moms email as an alias it will permanenty delete her email forever.

There unfortunately isnt any way to completely separate the email from the account without it affecting the Microsoft email. This is because the Microsoft account (Microsoft email) IS the Xbox account. They are both one in the same.

My Xbox account is under my mom's Microsoft account. I was wondering if I was able to put my email in there and delete hers from it so it would be fully my account, without messing up her email or account.

Unfortunately not. Changing the primary alias (your moms microsoft email) with your own would cause her Microsoft account to be permanently deleted and would never be able to use the same email to create a new one.

I would like to confirm, is the email you and your mother used for the Microsoft account, a one that belongs to another service, like Gmail or Yahoo?

Additionally, did you and your mother always shared the same Microsoft account, or did you remember making changes to the account before the account became only one?

i have this same problem, the parental e-mail was my moms old email at her old job and she cannot access it anymore. we have tried for more than a month to get someone from xbox or microsoft to help us but they are no help to me. they just dont get that
i need the email reset with my account, they had my mom make a whole new xbox account for me and that doesnt help. have any of you found any solutions to this??? please let me know if you have answers, its greatly appreciated.

Yes it is the same account. Infact its the same email. my Mojang account uses the same email as my Microsoft account. This only started happening when Microsoft stated they would be merging accounts with Mojang.

I did the process of merging and now I no longer own minecraft.
