Hi, I was just wondering if there could maybe be a feature/setting on ‘record that’ or ‘start recording’ where you could include your microphone. Maybe your party if people consent (like when you stream on twitch).

hey how did you use your mic in xbox app party chat in the first place? i launched "start a party (beta)" and it shows my mic, but i can't talk or hear anyone in the party chat. and my mic is the default recording device

Hello,

Xbox Clips feature are just record video/audio from current game, without your party voice chat. If you need to record video with party chat you can try to start broadcasting with Twitch (dont forget to record party chat in your broadcast settings), and
then create clips from your past broadcast.

The issue is because recording people in game chat is a invasion of privacy. It is a legal matter not a money matter.

Recording someone without their permission is not allowed in some areas.

The inbuilt streaming feature is meant for starting out or for fun usage not for serious streaming/professional usage.

If you are using party chat however the people in your party can OPT in to be heard by the stream.

Try recording a voice message. This will let you know if party chat is messed up for you or the mic is physically broken.

There is no way currently to record party chat on Xbox.

There are work-arounds to record party chat and those include but are not limited to: third party recording software, streaming on Twitch or another streaming platform.
