    Making sure I can receive messages


    In the privacy settings for my Xbox I have it set to only receive voice and text from friends, but in the separate category "contact preferences" it is set to accept "offers from Xbox"

    Does this allow me to receive beta codes, or do I have to have my messaging open to non-friends?

    Xbox one followers privacy/spam concerns. END IT

    Thanks for that tip mk30001 it looks like that is one way to eliminate having to receive messages. Not sure if I would keep that setting as mentioned above since it also is related with who you can communicate with voice. hmmmm interesting.

    X1 Set to Stereo on Power On

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply. In Display & sound,Digital audio,hdmi audio,hdmi auto is set to stereo uncompressed.when I try and change it to 5.1uncompressed or DTS digital surround i keep getting this message -"check you audio receiver- There wasa problem using this setting, make sure your audio receiver supports it, Also makes sure to choose at least one setting. Both cannot be off. (0X80bd0009)

    In display & sound tv connection hdmi is set to auto detect-is that right?

    You can leave your message settings set to friends only and still receive messages from Xbox Live Making sure I can receive messages :)

    Check your privacy settings and make sure you can receive messages from everyone/your friends.

    Text message and friend request problems

    You should have received a message if you were suspended from sending/receiving text messages and friend requests. Can you send outgoing text messages and friend requests to other players? If you can, then you should be able to get messages and requests
    from other players. I would also look into the privacy settings on your account and make sure you're allowed to send/receive messages and friend requests.

    Hey xbox1streak! Double check and make sure your privacy settings allow you to receive messages from everyone. Just to make sure, I have resent the information in an Xbox Live message. Thanks!

    Simply block the individual so that they can not communicate with you and make sure you report the person from their profile and if they are sending you messages make sure to report the messages as well so that the enforcement team has as much information
    that they will need when making their decision on the ban. Sorry that you are experiencing this issue and I hope that the individual receives an appropriate punishment for their violations.
