Make OneGuide just like Windows 7 MCE TV guide

I have (finally) upgraded from a Windows Media Center PC to an xbox one. One thing that needs work is OneGuide.

It needs to have some feature added.

    Ability to sort channels

    Ability to hide channels

Ability to select a channel and list it's contents

    Ability to search

Basically add the features that MCE had. These worked very well and combined with the new and excellent other features that OneGuide has would make this the best system.

    :)

  2. OneGuide missing from App

They have officially responded on reddit:

"OneGuide, including the guide, TV controls, and TV streaming, were removed from the Windows versions of the Xbox app. To use OneGuide on Windows, get the Xbox One SmartGlass app in the Windows Store. OneGuide is still part of the Xbox app on iOS and Android."

    Australia Media Center PC Setup

    Hi,

Not sure if this is a limitation of the Xbox One console in Australia, but I have a Windows 7 MCE Media Center PC connected to my Xbox One HDMI in and can view TV ok but the Xbox does not control any of the MCE functions. In settings on the Xbox one TV
Setup there is no option to specify what is connected to the HDMI in port (like I have read elsewhere about). How do I set this up? Is it even possible on an Australian Xbox One?

    Thanks.

    Xbox One and HDHomerun

Actually, after playing with it more, here is what I have right now, and it's still a kluge:

SiliconDist HDHomeRun2 Tuner with one tuner using Cable (no premiums, all ClearQAM)

HTPC (Windows 7) using the HDHR2 via Ethernet

HTPC HDMI out to Xbox One HDMI In

Xbox One HDMI Out to TV

This sort of works, but has the following problems:

Since my channel guide is only HD-alternate streams, this means all channels end with a .sub . (3.1, 57.3, 17.7 etc).

When trying to change the channel, I see the MCE overlay pop up under the OneGuide, but it only does the primary channel number, not the subs. So if I want channel 55.4, I see it try 55, but that's as far as it goes. It doesn't add the .4. Bummer.

Those channels I can't enter directly with my MCE remote (as there's no . button). But if I use a keyboard, I can type them in directly, even using my Media Center Keyboard. I don't see why if I can view them in the OneGuide, why can't it also send the .sub
    to the MC PC?

If they could at least fix that, I'd be okay with it. I'd still prefer direct support for the HDHR2 on Xbox One though.

    Media Center Extender???

Hopefully the rep at the microsoft store that SirCill spoke too is right as I'd be happy with just traditional MCE support (like the 360 has) -- but it would be cool if it would somehow use the new XBOne tv capabilities in conjuction with MCE, and even cooler
if it could list (and play) your dvr'd shows from a WMC PC (over the network, not HDMI) and take over as a replacement for MCE altogether.
