You will not lose anything associated to your account if you are merely changing your alias. As long as you know the email and password associated with your account, you should not lose any game content or progress.

But I had also a different Microsoft account with E-Mail 2. Once I changed the Microsoft account with E-Mail 1 to E-Mail 3. And then the Microsoft account with E-Mail 2 to E-Mail 1. After that I realised that Minecraft does't work with E-Mail 1. Then I remembered that I had a Mojang account with E-Mail 1 so I migrated this Mojang account to an another Microsoft account with E-Mail 4. I originally owned Minecraft with the Microsoft account with E-Mail 2(Now 1) and with the Mojang account with E-Mail 1(Now 4)
