    Madden thinks I need GamePass to play even though I own the game


    After my GamePass expired, both Madden 21 & now Madden 22 will not allow me to fully play the game because it thinks I need GamePass to play it. I own both discs for the games and they load up just fine. However, when I try to play in any game mode it does not allow me to access it and says I need to buy GamePass. Can somebody please tell me how to fix this issue.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    If I may ask, is it asking you to buy an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? It may be asking you to buy an Xbox Live Gold since it is required to play online but we still need to validate.

    Can you please check if you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription? Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

    Hi, thank you I'm doing well hope you are too. It is asking me to buy Live Gold / GPU. I have had Xbox Live Gold on auto renewall for years now, but I do now remember getting this "upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate for a year" type of thing last year. I assume it ended up connecting my XBL Gold to GPU and just completely cancelling my Xbox Live Gold as soon as the Game Pass Ultimate ran out instead of just reverting back to the regular Gold membership. I didn't think of that as a possibility since I never told Microsoft to stop auto renewall or cancel my membership. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
