Macrohard E3 bust with Backwards Compatibility program

Nice big announcement. Two games that already had developer permission, and none of the titles that were announced at the start of the program.

Why keep locking these threads when we just want support on why this program has not recieved any attention after it being the main selling point for any Xbox One owner? We all would've much preferred to go the Sony route to play with our millions of other
friends that knew better than we did apparently.

Backwards compatibility is released to everyone sometime in November.

The threads are not support related questions, we cannot assist people whenever they ask when a game will be released when no one knows the answer. We can only have patience. "All good things are worth waiting for."

Black Ops was originally announced as "Coming Soon" but it was recently made backwards compatible. The other games will eventually be released.

 

You know, instead of locking/deleting threads about this, a good mod would MOVE them to the appropriate area or at the very least direct people posting these threads to said area. The more you fight people that question how the program is being run or comment
or how embarrassing it is for MS the worse you make the problem. Not ONE BIT of feedback has been taken about this program since day one. Are you surprised that players are getting angry?

They have continually added games

You have two remember that xbox isn't the only factor

Writing patches takes months especially without the original code

Also getting the publisher to dot the is and cross the ts

 

Noone but the developer can answer when the patch will be done

Xbox is working on multiple patches with multiple games including gajes with gold this is months long proccess

Microsoft needs to get permission from the developer and publisher before they can do anything.

They could run into any trouble and it'd delay the game.

If there was any trouble, Microsoft would try to find a work around.

Microsoft has published/developed a good number of the Backwards Compatible games, as you can see from Major Nelson's blog.

Once Microsoft gets permission, they begin working on getting the game(s) over to Xbox One through different tests.

This could be a lengthy process.

After Microsoft is finished with getting the game onto their emulator, the developer needs to create a patch for the general public.

This could also be a lengthy process, creating patches for games is sometimes difficult to do.

The only thing we as gamers can do is, have patience with them. They've begun delivering games from the "Coming Soon" list (Black Ops) so it's just a matter of time.

Also sometimes times the developer is closed like skate developer it's going to take some time to write the patch

You are talking about millions of lines of code

 

Yes, let's all go to Uservoice. That's a great idea. Except that it's just people talking to a wall. MS doesn't read or care what is said there. As far as publishers/developers holding it up...just tell people that's where the holdup is. Many times from
multiple people have good suggestions been made for how MS could provide better feedback to the players about the progress of BC games but it's all ignored. And despite all the *** games they've added they've still yet to drop any but ONE of the first games
up on the list. Maybe they should have started negotiating with publishers before they started promoting games for this? They have no excuse for how poorly this is being handled.

 

It's not being handled at all that's what you don't seem to understand

Ms has no control over the procces

Nor can they force the issue legally you are asking the wrong people and is very illegal to do so

Ms has no say over when a deadline is because the games unless it's first party like ms games they have no control over the patch

If you read my post it explains the proccess quite well

All it is ms has to ask the permission then allow the game into the emulator

Which is just a checkbox

Then whenever the publisher and developer decides to write the patch is on them that's who you should be asking

Noone has an answer here as this isn't developer forums you can go to the individual game sections for that not support forums

User voice is the only section that developers see opinion and demand that's why you are being referred to it

Source code belongs to the publishers and developers only they can modify or see the code legally there is no magic press ok to continue

 

The people you should be asking where is the hold up is the publishers of the game

 

Not support forums who deal with support related questions not developer quedtipns

 

Most likely you won't be able to reach anyone even on the developers websitr

Deadlines or release dates aren't support questions but developer relations which is corporate anuwyas nor can developer support answer any release info unless it's publicly stated on their website when it will happen
