I can see how frustrating this is, you know your Minecraft Java account still works because you’re signed in through Lunar Client, but you can’t access it anywhere else. Between having two versions of Minecraft on different accounts, the Microsoft migration, and that email switch, it’s completely understandable that things got tangled.

The good news is: as long as you’re still signed in on Lunar, there’s hope. Let’s go step by step and work on recovering the account tied to your Java copy.

1. Check for any email hints in Lunar Client

Since you’re logged in and playing:

Open Lunar Client

Go to the Accounts tab or Settings

See if it shows part of the email used to sign in

(Sometimes you’ll see something like j****@outlook.com or just the domain)

Write down anything that might help—even the provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) could be useful later.

2. Try Microsoft’s account recovery tools

Go here first to check if you can identify the email:

https://account.live.com/username/recover

Enter any email address or phone number you think you might have used. If Microsoft recognizes it, they’ll let you verify or show you a masked version.

If that doesn’t help, go to the recovery form:

https://account.live.com/acsr

You’ll need to:

Enter the email address you believe was linked (even if it’s not exact)

Add a current email address where Microsoft can contact you

Fill in any info you remember—Minecraft username, approximate account creation date, maybe a linked Xbox Gamertag if there was one

This is Microsoft’s best method for helping you recover access to accounts without full login info.

3. Search your old emails or receipts

Check all the inboxes you’ve used—look for terms like:

“Minecraft migration”

“Microsoft account”

“Mojang”

“Your purchase confirmation”

Even if you just find a Mojang migration notice, it may include the destination email you used for the Microsoft migration.

Also, if you used a credit card or PayPal, check your bank history for a Minecraft or Microsoft charge. The date and transaction ID can help when talking to support.

4. Don’t log out of Lunar Client

You mentioned you're still signed in on that one device. Do not log out of Lunar Client until you recover the email and password. That active session is your last direct link to the account.

Once you recover the Microsoft account, yes—you’ll be able to use that same Minecraft Java account on other devices through the official launcher. The Lunar Client uses your Microsoft login, so once you reset the password and regain access, you’ll be free to use it elsewhere.

5. If nothing else works, contact Minecraft Support

Choose:

Minecraft: Java Edition

Account Recovery

In your message, explain:

You migrated your Java account from Mojang to Microsoft

You’re still signed in through Lunar Client but lost access to the login credentials

Provide your Minecraft username, platform (Java Edition), and approximate purchase date

They may ask for additional verification, but since you still have account access via Lunar, that helps your case.

This is one of those situations where the account itself is safe, but the login details got disconnected somewhere along the way. The key is to identify the Microsoft account tied to your Java license and work from there—starting with whatever you can find in Lunar.
