    Low broadband speed compared to other wired devices - how to fix?


    We’ve had recurring issues with lag and dropouts when playing multiplayer games using Live - most noticeably on Fortnite.

    I noticed - when looking at adavanced network settings - that the speeds very low, and flucuate - sometimes 8mb, sometimes 30mb, and (at best) 70-80mb download speeds.

    I have now replaced the local switch that the XBox One is plugged into via Ethernet, and replaced the modem / router that powers the network - but the problem persists.

    As a comparison, every other wired device (Mac Mini, laptops) is getting average wired speeds of 250-300mb - even when plugged into the same switch that the Xbox One is using.

    What gives? How can I resolve this?

    What is the max Internet Speed the Xbox Series X can receive.

    My internet speed is 1Gbps and my series x is plugged into the router via ethernet. But, My series x is only getting 200mbps with nobody on any devices and no games running in the background. Additionally, the latency on my series x never gets below 60ms whilst my other devices get as low as 9 ms. How do I fix this speed discrepancy on my series x.

    I've got a good broadband speed so can't compare on that score m8 but if you install the games when your offline that's supposed to speed things up.

    Seriously,the speeds you are getting are extremely poor & will cause lag which isn't fair on the people you are playing against/with.

    Upgrading you broadband is really the only option.

    You may get slightly better speeds if nothing else is using your broadband at the same time as you are playing online but as I said,you are going to struggle with such low download/upload speeds.
