Lost save game progress while using cloud streaming

    Lost save game progress while using cloud streaming


    I have a game save that I am playing on Series X and via cloud gaming. Twice, now, I've lost some of my save game progress after playing via the cloud. The first time my lost progress was minuscule, and I thought I perhaps had done something wrong.

    The second time I lost more progress despite being very careful to try and do the right thing. At the end of my game session I saved, quit to the game menu, then chose the option in the Gamepass app (on Android) to exit.

    Then a few hours later I tried booting up the Series X, and my game save is as if I never played via the cloud. That progress is totally gone. As a troubleshooting step, I've tried quitting and restarting the game and also rebooting my Xbox. I also tried launching the game via the cloud once again, but my save progress is completely gone from both console and cloud.

    I made a report via the Gamepass app feedback but I thought I should do so here as well. (It also would be good to hear if others have experienced the same issue and if there are any known or suspected workarounds.)

    your progress is not lost. Your saved games are. Unless their in the cloud. (very useful by the way,) You will still have all your achievements.

    as you wiped the progress via cloud gaming then you have lost the save altogether, the above fix is mainly for pc so if on console and the save on the cloud has been overwritten then that's it, it is gone.

    The Xbox One automatically saves games to the cloud while you are connected to the internet. Game progress will be saved in the cloud storage of the account currently logged in.

    Accidentally Deleted Progress in RDR2

    If you saved over a file and it sync to the cloud. You game progress is lost. You can try running the Xbox Offline and see if your able to load the game from the local file.

    If that doesnt work delete the local saved file like Parity said and maybe the cloud didnt catch or sync the saved game progress.
