    Hi all.

    I haven't logged into my hotmail/Xbox account for almost 10 years and I cannot remember my password.

    I have tried the reset password form dozens of times, entering in as much detail as I can remember but I've hit a wall and can't remember any more but I'm still presented with:

    "Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership"

    I need to talk to someone at Microsoft to get my account reset but the live chat agent is useless and won't reset my password or give me a contact number to call for support.

    Does anyone know a phone number @ Microsoft I can call to get my account back?

    All Microsoft or Xbox support agents will give you the same information, you need to complete the form successfully in order to regain access to your account, since you can only recover an account trough that form, or with the contact methods such as phone number or recovery email you registered on that account

    Hello HuntMoorhouse2,

    I would recommend getting to Microsoft Virtual Agent

    Then just type in “agent” and select the issue.

    Select either of the option “Call me back” or “chat”
    I've tried the virtual agent - useless.

    I've tried a live agent (actual human) - useless.

    Neither can reset the password and saying the only way is through the form, even though I tell them that I have tried this and it fails.....

    Call me back gives me:

    "Talk to a person

    Sorry, we're having trouble connecting you. Feel free to try again or ask another question."
